Tractor Boys boss denies Hammers interest

Jim Magilton has dismissed speculation that West Ham United have made an approach for Danny Haynes. The England Under 19 international has scored four goals in 22 appearances for Ipswich in the Championship this season and has attracted the attention of a number of top-flight clubs. West Ham were reported to have tabled a £1.5million bid for the attacker but this has been denied by the Tractor Boys boss.

No contact

"There is nothing in it," Magilton told the club's website. "We have not had any contact from West Ham regarding Danny or any other player at this football club."
Fernandes trial
Whilst denying that Haynes is set to leave the club, Magilton did reveal that Portuguese midfielder Ricardo Fernandes is to spend two days on trial at Portman Road. The player is currently with Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia but has played for Sporting Lisbon and Porto, where he was signed by Jose Mourinho and was part of a squad which lifted the UEFA Champions League in 2004. "The lad is spending a couple of days with us so we can have a look at him but it's no more than that," said Magilton.
