Leeds United midfielder Alan Thompson has moved to League One rivals Hartlepool on a month's loan.
The former Celtic star has moved north in a bid to gain some much-needed match fitness.
"He needs to play games which he hasn't been doing and this will give him a situation where he can play games," Leeds boss Dennis Wise told the club's official website.
"He's had his calf problem which is a concern and he's come off in games but this gives him a chance to play."
Wise is also hoping Thompson can have an impact in Hartlepool's games against Leeds' promotion rivals.
"I think it's better for us because the other part of Thommo going on loan to Hartlepool is that he will play against teams who are near us in the league.
"I'm hoping he does really well and upsets all the teams and comes back fit."
