Caballero happy with display
Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero has expressed his delight after Arsenal dispatched a scout to watch him at the weekend.
The Elche shot-stopper was in fine form as he helped his side claim a goalless draw with Real Sociedad.
Wenger's Spanish network took the chance to watch the highly-rated Caballero whilst also checking on the progress of midfield starlet Fran Merida - who is on loan at Sociedad for the rest of the season.
Caballero admits he was delighted to turn in such a good performance knowing the English giants had people watching him.
Shock
"For me it was a big surprise but perhaps it was the best match of my career," he told
Radio Mitre.
"But I have not spoken with anyone, but my future remains with Elche."
Elche's directors have confirmed that they have not received any offers for Caballero - who is also being chased by Spanish sides Real Zaragoza, Real Mallorca and Deportivo La Coruna.
26-year-old Caballero, who has Spanish nationality, has been called into the full Argentina squad - but he is yet to earn his first cap.
His current contract at Elche has 18 months left to run, whilst his buy-out clause is set at £4.5million.
