Motherwell new boy relishing return to SPL

Bob Malcolm is relishing the challenge ahead of him after signing for Motherwell until the end of the season.

The versatile 27-year-old, who was released by Derby in January, is available to make his debut in the Scottish Premier League clash against Aberdeen on Wednesday evening.

Motherwell are currently third in the table and have games in hand on those immediately below them, but Malcolm is expecting a tricky run-in.

He told Sky Sports News: "The big push here is to try and get into Europe. There's 13 games left so it's going to be an interesting few weeks.

"We've got games against the Old Firm as well so it'll be difficult but the boys have handled it well so far and I'm sure they can do it for the rest of the season."

Malcolm insists he has no regrets about leaving Rangers for Derby in Sepember 2006, despite only making 14 appearances for the English club.

He said: "Derby was a great club with a great manager (Billy Davies), it just didn't work for me when the new manager (Paul Jewell) came in.

"It didn't get me down. I've moved to a different club and hopefully I'll do well here."
