Levante midfielder Felix Ettien is set to be sidelined for around a month after picking up a leg injury.
Doctors have confirmed that the Ivory Coast international will miss a crucial period of the Primera Division season with the muscle problem.
Ettien has been a key performer for bottom club Levante this season and coach Gianni di Biasi admits it is a major blow to lose the 28-year-old.
"This is bad news for us but we need to keep up our push for survival. It is difficult but not impossible," Di Biasi told the Spanish press.
Levante boosted their chances of avoiding the drop with a 2-1 victory against Real Zaragoza on Sunday.
