Hansa Rostock ace pens deal

Karlsruhe have completed the signing of Hansa Rostock defender Tim Sebastian for the coming season. The 24-year-old stopper, who is available on a free transfer in the summer, agreed a three-year deal at the Wildpark Stadion where he will replace Hannover-bound Switzerland international Mario Eggimann. "Tim Sebastian was our first choice for the central defensive position," KSC general manager Rolf Dohmen told the club's official website. "He is a young German player with plenty of potential and has already given plenty of proof of his ability in the Bundesliga."

Sebastian, who has featured in the 23 Bundesliga matches for Rostock this season, also expressed his delight at the move. "The transfer gives me the chance to try something new. I intend to make a lot of personal progress in my time at Karlsruhe," he said. "I am convinced that they have a good team and I can't wait to get going in the summer."
