Defender hoping to earn Orient contract extension

Sam Oji is waiting to discover if he will be offered a long-term contract by Leyton Orient. The defender signed a deal until the end of the season in January, having previously been on loan at Orient from Birmingham City. Oji feels O's boss Martin Ling has already reached a decision on his future and expects to learn if he will be staying at the League One club after Saturday's final game against Bristol Rovers. "I'm sure the manager has already made his mind up whether he is going to give me a new contract, although at this moment in time nothing has really been discussed with me," Oji told the Epping Forest Guardian.

One last chance

"At this stage I am not sure it would even matter if I scored a hatful of goals on Saturday, because the gaffer has probably already made his decision. "But it is one last chance for me to show him what I can do, although I'd like to think that I've proved myself in the games that I've played in already. "Hopefully something can be sorted out here and I can go on and have a big season at the club next year."
