Midfielder frustrated by lack of chances
Stuttgart midfielder Antonio Da Silva has revealed that he is looking to leave the club this summer.
The 29-year-old only joined Stuttgart from Mainz two years ago but he has been given few opportunities to shine in coach Armin Veh's line-up this season.
He now faces additional competition for a place following the signings of Jan Simak and Martin Lanig, and feels it is time to look for a new challenge.
"It's better for me if I go," Da Silva told
Kicker.
"I don't see myself as a simple squad player. That's not what I want.
"I want to be able to help a team and I can only do that if I'm playing."
German reports suggest that Bundesliga rivals Karlsruhe are keen to sign Da Silva to replace Borussia Dortmund-bound Hungarian Tamas Hajnal.
However, the two clubs have yet to agree on a fee for the Brazilian who is contracted to the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion until 2011.
