Coleman hopes Roberts and Murdock sign

Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman is hopeful of bringing Ipswich Town winger Gary Roberts back to the club. Roberts left Stanley for Ipswich over 18 months ago, but has struggled to make a lasting impression on manager Jim Magilton. He spent a spell on loan at Crewe Alexandra last season and has been put on the transfer list by Ipswich. Stanley chairman Eric Whalley has confirmed the club's interest in re-signing Roberts and Coleman is optimistic of clinching a deal. "Obviously he's a player I rate highly and hopefully something can be done," said Coleman. The League Two club are also waiting to finalise their move for defender Colin Murdock, who has been released by Shrewsbury Town. Coleman said: "We've agreed terms with him and hopefully we'll tie everything up tomorrow (Friday) or next week."
