Russell happy to extend time at Spotland
Rochdale goalkeeper Sam Russell has signed a contract extension at Spotland.
Russell joined Dale last August on a free transfer after being released by League Two rivals Darlington.
He made 17 appearances for the club and has now been handed a new contract by manager Keith Hill.
"Luckily I have done enough in my time here to earn another contract and I am very happy to have agreed it," Russell told the club's
official website.
Ambitious
"The lads and the management are all very ambitious and I wouldn't be here if they weren't like that.
"None of the players here want to be playing League Two football, we know that we can do a lot better and I am raring to go for next season."
Meanwhile, Rochdale have confirmed the club will face Premier League side Bolton Wanderers in a pre-season friendly on 25th July.
