Veteran defender hoping for new deal
Stanislav Varga has no plans to hang up his playing boots after being released by Sunderland.
The former Slovakia international has spent the last eight seasons in British football having played for the likes of West Brom, Celtic and Burnley and he would like to stay in the country.
Varga admits he is coming to the end of his career, although he believes his experience and coaching ability make him a worthwhile investment.
Experience
"I know I am coming towards the end of my career but I have a great deal of experience and still believe I have something to offer sides in England," he told the
Sunderland Echo.
"I have my coaching badges - so that is an option for me. And I have also had an offer from abroad to play.
"But I would like to stay in Britain and I feel I can certainly contribute to a side."
