Boss Downing keen to look at potential recruits

Cheltenham are set to use their opening pre-season friendly against Didcot on Tuesday to give four trialists a run out. Michael Husbands, Rhys Meynell, Ryan Burge and Ryan Paddock are expected to get 45 minutes each. Robins boss Keith Downing wants to give all of his squad a run-out in the game as he firms up his squad for the season ahead. He told the club's official website: "Everyone will get onto the pitch tomorrow at some point and the aim is to give 45 minutes to each player.

Good shape

"The players have all come back in good shape and I'm delighted with the first week of training. The players have all worked hard and now they are keen to get some football going. On Saturday we will have two matches so that will give everyone the chance of a longer run-out. "By then we might have one or two more trialists in because I want to look at some players over the next week or so. "There are a lot of people out of contract at the moment and it's still early days in terms of them getting fixed up with clubs."
