Trollope keen to take on former Coventry striker

Paul Trollope is still hoping to sign Wayne Andrews for Bristol Rovers, despite the striker missing their pre-season trip to Sweden through injury. Former Coventry man Andrews has been on trial at the Memorial Stadium as he recovers from the knee problem he sustained last season. Trollope told the club's official website: "We are looking to send Wayne to Lilleshall while we are in Sweden and that will benefit all parties. "When we reported back for pre-season training he obviously wanted to impress and I think he might have pushed himself maybe a little bit too hard, too soon. "We have to be careful with him and make sure he's right because he's trying to earn a contract and we are trying to get the best out of him and make sure he's fit enough to secure one. "All being well that will take place a few weeks down the line. That will be the ideal scenario but we do have to be careful and a week at Lilleshall will be a huge benefit to him. We are hopeful we can sign Wayne because he's the main one we want in the building."
