Jamaican winger hoping to secure loan move

Stoke City winger Demar Phillips is training with Oldham Athletic with a view to a loan move. Phillips has made just two substitute appearances for Stoke since joining the Premier League new boys last summer. The Jamaica international has been allowed to link up with Oldham this week and will feature in Saturday's friendly against Grimsby Town. If he impresses in the match, Phillips could be offered a season-long contract at Boundary Park by Latics boss John Sheridan. "I spoke to Tony (Pulis) on the UEFA Pro Licence course during the summer and I appreciate him letting us have a look at Demar," Sheridan told the club's official website. "Hopefully he will do well and give me food for thought. Demar looks like a quality player and he'll be involved tomorrow and around for the Derby game. "There is a chance of first-team football for him here and Tony's been kind enough to let him come."
