Galatasaray have completed the signing of defender Fernando Meira from Stuttgart.
Meira had been expected to depart the Bundesliga side following the recent arrival of stopper Khalid Boulahrouz from Chelsea.
It was claimed that Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur were monitoring Meira's situation.
However, the 30-year-old Portugal international has now penned an initial three-year deal with the Turkish giants.
Stuttgart sports director Horst Heldt thanked Meira for his six-and-a-half seasons at the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion.
He said: "We thank Fernando Meira for six-and-a-half years in the jersey of VfB and wish him all the best for his future in Turkey."
