Keeper leaves Brentford on half-season loan

Darlington have signed goalkeeper Simon Brown on loan from League Two rivals Brentford. Brown has joined the Quakers until 5th January and will provide extra competition in Dave Penney's squad. He has been allowed to leave Griffin Park on a temporary basis after Bees boss Andy Scott confirmed Ben Hamer would be the club's No.1 this season. Hamer is on a season-long loan from Reading and will replace Brown, who made 28 appearances last term, between the sticks. Former Tottenham youngster Brown joined Brentford on a two-year deal from Hibernian last summer and will now look to make the most of his opportunity with Darlington.
