Blues cast eye over Rinaldi

Birmingham are running the rule over Brazilian Douglas Rinaldi, skysports.com understands. The former Watford midfielder left Vicarage Road at the end of the season after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent. Rinaldi arrived in England in January 2007 with Watford in the Premier League and he caught the eye with a number of good displays. Despite being relegated the Hornets snapped Rinaldi up on a permanent deal but then did not use him at all the following season. Now Rinaldi is free to find a new employer and a host of clubs from across England and Scotland have expressed an interest. Charlton, Plymouth and Swansea, along with SPL duo Hearts and Hibernian were all linked, but Birmingham have now made their move and are taking a close look at the 24-year-old.
