Leeds boss Gary McAllister has bolstered his squad ahead of the new season with the capture of Paul Telfer.
The former Scotland international has signed non-contract terms after impressing while on trial this pre-season.
Telfer, a veteran of over 500 senior appearances, will provide McAllister with centre-half and right-back cover.
The 36-year-old goes straight into Leeds' squad for their League One opener at Scunthorpe this weekend.
Telfer could be one of five debutants for Leeds with Andy Robinson, Enoch Showunmi, Andy Robinson and Luciano Becchio likely to feature.
