Elejiko links up with Railwaymen as he seeks move
Crewe have handed a trial to Nigerian defender Bobsam Elejiko.
Alex's first-team coach Steve Holland recently admitted he was keen to bolster the side's defensive options and he has offered Elejiko the chance to win a move to Gresty Road.
Elejiko had been playing in Belgium for Royal Antwerp but is keen to earn a permanent contract in England.
The 26-year-old recently had a trial at Gillingham, but Holland is hoping to steal a march on Mark Stimson's men by bringing him to Crewe.
Improve
"We have Bobsam with us and we will look at him over the next week," Holland told the club's
official website.
"He has been at Gillingham and we are led to believe they were willing to offer him something, but the lad wants to play at a higher level so we will see how he gets on.
"He would come here on a free transfer if we feel he could improve us. I have stated all along that we could do with another defender. We need to strengthen in that area, especially at centre-half."
