Carlisle United boss John Ward is happy to give Ronnie Wallwork the chance to prove his fitness. Wallwork is currently training with Carlisle after being released by Sheffield Wednesday at the end of last season. The former Manchester United midfielder spent a loan spell at Brunton Park at the start of his career and played for the club's reserves in midweek. He is some way off being ready for a first-team game, but Ward is keen to assess Wallwork's fitness over the coming weeks. "He is good with the football, but he needs to get his fitness levels up," Ward told the News & Star. "The other boys are eight weeks in front of him. "He needs to keep training and working on that and I'm willing to let him do that here. "He can stay around the boys and play a few games, and we will see where that takes us."
