Plymouth youngster to build up first-team experience

Plymouth Argyle teenager Dan Smith has agreed to join Morecambe on a one-month loan deal. Smith has made two substitute appearances for Plymouth and was on the bench for last month's Carling Cup defeat at Luton Town. Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock is keen for the winger to gain some first-team experience during his stint with League Two side Morecambe. "I am pleased because the lad would have stagnated here," Sturrock told the club's official website. "He will now have the great benefit of playing competitive games, which will mean he has an edge to him, and we will keep close tabs on him." The recent signings of Paul Gallagher and Nicolas Marin have impacted on Smith's first-team chances at Home Park. The 19-year-old could finalise his move to Christie Park in time to be available for Saturday's trip to Barnet.
