French midfielder eager to replicate Maldini
Rennes midfielder Bruno Cheyrou is eager to agree a long-term deal at Stade Rennais and to replicate Paolo Maldini at AC Milan.

However, former the Liverpool player has battled his way back into the plans of Guy Lacombe and is now eager to convince his manager that he is worth a new contract.
Cheyrou has been offered a one-year extension to his current terms, but is keen to follow the example of Maldini, who has spent 24 years at Milan, and secure a lengthy stay with his current employers.
"My summer has been a turbulent one," Cheyrou told
L'Equipe. "The club wanted to part with me.
"I would like to become the Rennes Maldini, but my current contract is short-term.
"I am delighted to be here we have a great squad. We are in talks for a one-year deal, but we could not agree terms."
