Striker does not expect move to go ahead
Ales Besta has admitted that he is unlikely to secure a move to Charlton in the January transfer window.
Besta, out of favour with Czech side FC Brno, has just returned to his homeland after a week-long trial at Charlton.
He is keen to join the Addicks and claims he impressed the Championship club, but it seems a transfer will not happen.
The striker explained to
MF DNES: "Charlton would like to sign me in the summer, when I would come on a free transfer.
"Together with my agent Stejskal we refused this as, in that case, I would be without football for half a year.
"So they have taken some time to think over whether they will sign me now in the winter, or not. However, I don't see it being very possible."
Wonderful
Besta has been astonished by how everything works at Charlton and concedes he would love to ply his trade in England.
He said: "I saw how it works at a high-quality club, what it should look like.
"Assistants as well as main coaches are in charge of training sessions and players care only about football.
"The stadium is absolutely wonderful. Also, the interest in football in England is more than our country. A lot of pages about football is in the press every day.
"If it does not turn out well for me (with Charlton), I will be waiting for another offer to come. So far I have nothing else specific, so we will see."
