Forest and Bochum keen on Czech striker

Nottingham Forest and Bochum are reported to be tracking Banik Ostrava striker David Strihavka. Championship side Forest are believed to have sent representatives to watch the former Norwich man in action against Sigma Olomouc on Sunday, while Bundesliga outfit Bochum are also keeping a close eye on his availability. The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Banik from Viktoria Plzen, although that agreement is set to expire next week. Banik general manager Werner Licka remains hopeful of persuading Strihavka to remain in the Czech Republic, but accepts that he will be powerless to prevent the forward leaving for foreign shores should a suitable offer materialise.

Confident

"We have agreed with David that he will stay with us for the whole season, and Plzen are aware of this," Licka told Denik Sport. "If David decided differently, we will discuss the matter at a meeting on Tuesday. "Only if Plzen have the opportunity to sell him abroad will this matter change from the current course. "We appreciate that we would not be able to make him stay with us if that was the case."
Focus
Strihavka insists he is unaware of any interest from Forest, claiming that he remains fully focused on his commitments to Banik. "This is news to me. I know nothing about it," he said. "I have an agreement with the manager not to tell me anything as I want to focus properly on my performances."
