Celtic look destined to fail in their attempts to land Bosnia-Herzegovina midfielder Semir Stilic.
The 21-year-old is currently on the books of Lech Poznan and is widely regarded as one of Europe's most promising youngsters.
He has been linked with a £2.5million to Parkhead, with the Hoops keen to push that deal through during the January transfer window.
Stilic has pleaded with his club to sanction the move, but looks set to be left disappointed.
Poznan believe the player will be worth even more to them in the summer, while they also hold reservations about Stilic's ability to adapt to the rigours of life in the SPL.
Price tag
"Semir is not yet physically prepared for this transfer," Poznan sporting director Marek Pogorzelczyk said in the
Daily Express.
"He has had trouble holding on for 90 minutes in the Polish league and the requirements abroad are much greater.
"During the spring, he will have to do some special physical work in training and he'll be more competitive in the summer and his price will be higher."
Pogorzelczyk added: "I have spoken to the player and his agent and I don't think they really want to change clubs right now. I think this is some sort of game."
Stilic said earlier this week: "I don't want to wait because I don't even know if Celtic would still want me in six months' time."
