Ian Butterworth believes the FA Cup fourth round draw with West Ham is fantastic for Hartlepool.
League One side confident of upsetting the odds again
Hartlepool United assistant manager Ian Butterworth believes the FA Cup fourth round draw with West Ham is fantastic for the club.
Hartlepool earned their place in the hat after beating Premier League side Stoke City 2-0 at Victoria Park on Saturday.
Michael Nelson had headed the League One side into the lead before substitute David Foley secured the win with a fantastic strike from outside the area.
Butterworth is confident that home advantage could again work in Pools favour but insists the players must maintain the high standards set in the Stoke game.
"It's a fantastic draw for the club," he told
Sky Sports News.
"We are at home, we won't be travelling anywhere, we're pitting our wits against a Premiership side and if the lads can produce the performance yesterday with the guts and the character we will give them a hell of a game."
Goal scorer Foley is also confident that his side can again upset the odds and progress in the famous competition.
"It's probably a great time to play them to be honest," he said.
"They're not doing great in the Premier League at the moment and a lot of speculation is surrounding their players.
"If there are new faces or faces are gone then they're going to be shaken up."
