Brian Laws insists Sheffield Wednesday's star players are not for sale during January.
Owls boss rubbishes transfer rumours
Brian Laws insists Sheffield Wednesday's star players are not for sale and the Owls boss believes they will remain at Hillsborough.
A number of players have been linked with a move elsewhere, with Mark Beevers, Richard Wood and Lee Grant just a few to be attracting admirers.
But Laws told
skysports.com that he is confident the club can hold on to their best players.
"It has been quite clearly noted that the chairman has stated there is no way we are selling our best young players and that is music to my ears," he said.
"It's great that the chairman can support me by keeping our best players at the club. It's just paper talk and we can't stop that, so while the media can discuss our player's futures we can certainly deny it."
The Owls squad has been decimated by injuries and a number of youngsters being given the chance to impress, with 17-year-old prospect Nathan Modest impressing in recent weeks.
"Everyone has to start their careers off somewhere, so it was nice to give them a chance against quality opposition and it was good to see Modest, who is only 17, get on the pitch alongside Rocky Lekaj," added Laws
"It was great for those players to get a taste of the action and it will only stand them in good stead."
