Youngster handed second chance by Cumbrians
Carlisle have offered a one-month contract to former England U19 midfielder Gavin Rothery.
The 21-year-old has been with the Cumbrians on trial since the beginning of January and has impressed enough to be handed the short-term deal.
Rothery is a graduate of the famed Leeds United youth academy, but failed to make an impression at Elland Road and was subsequently released.
Carlisle boss Greg Abbott believes the youngster has the potential to forge a career in league football, though, and is happy to give him an opportunity to prove his worth
"We're going to offer Gavin a month," he told the club's
official website.
"We've seen enough to be optimistic about him and this will give him a period of time where he can show us what he can do."
