Rotherham United striker Richie Barker has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury. Barker has undergone surgery on the problem picked up not long after he completed a permanent return to the Millers. The experienced front man had been on loan at the club before sealing a permanent switch from Hartlepool United at the turn of the year. However, he will not play again this season, with manager Mark Robins admitting it is a major blow to lose the 33-year-old. Robins told the Sheffield Star: "He had been a regular in the squad to the turn of the year, but the injury just happened and then the examination revealed the extent of it and what was required. "It's dreadful luck for the lad and the club because a fit Richie Barker is a real asset."
