Youngsters handed new deals

Birmingham City have handed a one-year professional contract to promising academy graduate Jacob Rowe. The 18-year-old was recently voted the club's Young Player of the Year and has seen that achievement rewarded with a new deal. The youngster particularly caught the eye of the club's coaching staff during the Blues' run to the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup. Birmingham have also recognised the progress made by Jared Wilson this term by handing him a contract extension. He has been awarded another 12 months after joining the professional ranks last summer. The 20-year-old, who made his senior debut as a substitute during a Championship clash at Queens Park Rangers in October, has impressed this term while out on loan at League Two outfit Chesterfield. Having joined the Spireites in January, he has gone on to make 15 appearances for Lee Richardson's side.
