Still secures first signing of close season
Dagenham & Redbridge have snapped up former Gillingham midfielder Stuart Thurgood on a two-year contract.
Thurgood was released by Gillingham in January and signed for Grays Athletic on a deal until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old had originally left Grays for Gillingham in late 2007 before returning to the non-league club initially on loan.
He has now secured a move back into the Football League and becomes Dagenham manager John Still's first signing of the close season.
"Stuart is a player I've been interested in for three or four years and I'm absolutely delighted to have added him to my squad," Still told the club's
official website.
"Stuart is hungry to prove himself back in the Football League and his drive and ambition is something that has impressed me."
