Midfielder keen to agree new deal at Easter Road

Hibernian midfielder Ross Chisholm is hoping to sign a new two-year contract at Easter Road when he returns from holiday. Chisholm's current deal is up in the summer and he had faced an anxious wait over whether he would be offered an extension. Talks have now started with his agent and the 21-year-old is eager to agree a deal to stay with Mixu Paatelainen's side. "My agent had talks with the club and things are looking better," said Chisholm in the Daily Record. "It was nice to be told by the manager he wanted me, but it was difficult to know what would happen when the club didn't follow that up. However, I'm glad things have moved on. "I'm not sure exactly what's on the table, I'm looking for a two-year deal. "I'll sit down with the chairman and my agent when I get back and hopefully I'll sign a new contract then." Meanwhile, Hibs boss Paatelainen is hoping he can persuade Grzegorz Szamotulski and Denes Rosa to sign new deals at Easter Road. Paatelainen said: "I would like them to stay and am hoping things will work out."
