Teenage shot-stopper signs new one-year deal with Vale

Teenage goalkeeper Daniel Lloyd-Weston says the future is bright after signing a new one-year deal with Port Vale. The 17-year-old joined the League Two outfit from West Brom a year ago and made the bench several times last term when first-choice keeper Joe Anyon was injured. He now hopes to push on and get some first team experience under new boss Micky Adams. The young shot-stopper told the club's official website: "Now it's time to get some experience under my belt and push on and improve myself and see what comes of it. I've been doing some training on my own and been in the gym, getting fit. "To be honest I haven't really planned anything for my hopes yet whatsoever because I just want to see what comes, go training, impress the new manager and show him what I'm all about. "I have got to push Joe Anyon and (second-choice stopper) Chris Martin, but we all push each other anyway."
