Veteran goalkeeper could consider Stadio Olimpico switch
Napoli's Gennaro Iezzo would be interested in a move to Roma, according to the goalkeeper's agent.
Manager Luciano Spalletti is understood to be keen to increase the strength in depth of his squad after Roma finished a disappointing sixth in Serie A last season.
Iezzo has been linked with a move to the Stadio Olimpico, with a view to providing competition for first-choice shot-stopper Doni.
And the representative of the 36-year-old, Luca Urbani, has revealed that joining Roma would be an attractive option.
Valid alternative
"He is a player who is still under contract with Napoli for another season," Urbani told
forzaroma.info.
"Having said that, I will not hide the fact that Roma would be an eventuality Iezzo has a total and absolute liking for.
"I believe that Roma need a valid alternative to Doni, whose class and value is not up for discussion, but he did have some physical problems this year.
"Anyway I believe that a Doni-Iezzo partnership would be very interesting. It would give the team an experienced component.
"Gennaro has spent four years with Napoli. There is such a rapport that there would not be any problems."
