McCarthy eager to land Croatian midfielder

Skysports.com understands Wolves are closing in on the signing of Croatian international Jerko Leko. The Premier League new boys are believed to have agreed a fee with Monaco for the midfielder as Mick McCarthy continues his rebuilding plans. Leko is thought to have been recommended to McCarthy by Croatia boss Slaven Bilic. Wolves have moved quickly to try and lure Leko to Molineux by agreeing a deal with French side Monaco. Leko is expected to arrive in England later this week for talks with Wolves and a possible medical. The 29-year-old would add versatility to McCarthy's squad as he can play anywhere across midfield and has a wealth of experience having won over 50 caps for Croatia.
