Simpson delighted to net Neal

Shrewsbury have bolstered their ranks by bringing in Lewis Neal on a two-year deal. The striker spent the second half of last season at Carlisle but was released at the end of his short-term contract. He has now agreed to join the Shrews and completed his medical on Thursday afternoon. Manager Paul Simpson is delighted to have landed his man and backed the 27-year-old to play a major role when the new League Two season gets underway. "I know I keep saying this but I am really pleased to have been able to get Lewis Neal to come and join us," Simpson told the club's official website. "He is a player that I believe is more than capable of playing at a higher level and I hope he can do that with us." Neal started his career with Stoke before moving to Preston in 2005 and spending four years at Deepdale.
