Former Millwall ace looking to impress Lions chief

Paul Ifill is currently training with former club Millwall with a view to earning a full-time contract following his release from Crystal Palace. Lions manager Kenny Jackett is expected to make a decision on Ifill at the end of the week before his squad leave for their pre-season tour of Ireland. The 29-year-old made more than 250 appearances in a seven-year stay at the League One club before leaving for Sheffield United in 2005. Injury has restricted Ifill since but the winger still managed 38 appearances last term for Palace, scoring six goals in the process. "Paul is a free transfer from Crystal Palace and he's looking for somewhere to train and do his pre-season," Jackett said. "I'd be lying if we weren't looking at each other as a prospective club and as a prospective signing, so we'll see how he goes, how he fits in and how his fitness is. "He has other offers on the table, as you would expect, but it will be interesting to see how he does this week."
