Bees boss calls time on playing career
Barnet boss Ian Hendon has announced his retirement from playing to concentrate on his coaching duties.
The 37-year-old has enjoyed a professional career spanning over 20 years, in which has made over 500 appearances.
That statistic includes 139 outings for Barnet, a club he initially joined in a playing capacity in 2003.
He has, however, now been forced to hang up his boots on medical grounds, having spent the last year attempting to recover from a niggling ankle knock.
"When the time is right to go, you have to accept it," Hendon, who also played for Sheffield Wednesday, Leyton Orient and Notts County, told the club's
official website.
"At least I'll still have an outdoors role with the lads every day, training and keeping fit."
