Serie A new boys keen on Torino striker

Parma have confirmed that Torino striker Rolando Bianchi is one of their primary transfer targets for the summer. The 26-year-old joined Torino from Manchester City 12 months ago but he was not able to keep his new club in Serie A. Parma, having won promotion back to the top flight, are now keen to partner Bianchi with Alberto Paloschi up front. "Bianchi is a player that does interest us, but we will have to see if Torino are ready to release him or do as we did with our players to get back into Serie A," Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi told the Italian press. "A striker will definitely arrive, because we cannot put all the pressure of the attack on Alberto Paloschi's shoulders. We are counting on him, but in terms of sheer numbers we need someone else too." Ghirardi remains upbeat about Parma's chances of avoiding relegation this term but accepts that it will be a tough fight. "For this season we'll be happy just to survive in Serie A and hope to achieve that," he said. "We are confident, though the squad has not yet been finalised."
