Midfielder handed 12-month contract
Bury have rewarded midfielder Damien Allen with a 12-month contract after he impressed during a three-week trial spell.
Allen impressed Alan Knill sufficiently during his brief stint with the club to persuade the Shakers boss that he was worth a permanent deal.
The former Stockport, Royal Antwerp and Morecambe player arrives on a free transfer having been released by the Shrimps at the end of last season.
Knill said: "Damien came in and he's earned a contract. He came here looking for one and we've given him one.
"He's infectious in training, his attitude is first class and he's fitter than everyone else. He always wants the ball and technically he is very good.
"He can also play in various positions and he has made us go 'wow - we'd better get him, we'd better sign him now' and we have done."
