Sousa delighted with new signing

Swansea have signed former Liverpool youngster Besian Idrizaj. The Austrian has inked a two-year deal at the Liberty Stadium after leaving German side FC Eilenburg. Idrizaj, who failed to make a first-team apperanace for Liverpool, was released by the Reds last summer after three seasons at Anfield The 21-year-old is Swans boss Paulo Sousa's second signing since taking charge in the summer and he is delighted to land the versatile forward. "We are delighted that he has signed," said Sousa. "He is a player I have been aware of from his time at Liverpool and with the Austrian international set-up. "Besian has good characteristics and can play away along the front line - I believe that he will be a great asset. "He is a young player with good talent but has not played for a long time in competitive football, and it will take him time to adjust to the intensity of our league. "But he is now available for selection straight away and we are happy to be able to give him another chance at this level." Idrizaj is set to go straight into the Swansea squad for their Carling Cup tie against Scunthorpe on Tuesday.
