Dons' new boss could offload experienced striker

Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee has confirmed midfielder Derek Young could be used in a swap deal before the transfer window closes. McGhee is reportedly keen on St Mirren defender Mo Camara and has hinted the 29-year-old could be offered as bait to land the ex-Derby and Celtic man. The former Motherwell boss is desperate to secure reinforcements prior to facing this old club in league action this weekend at Pittodrie. McGhee has stressed that none of his star players are up for grabs unless they are offered 'crazy' money prior to the summer transfer window closing.

Part-exchange

"Derek is one of those who could find himself considered as part of a trade for another player," said McGhee. "I want other players in before the Motherwell game. You need options and it is a case of working out the best deals because we don't have a lot of resources. "That includes considering swap deals. There are a few players who haven't featured much who we would consider trading but the players may not want to leave us at this time. "None of my star players will be leaving before the transfer window unless someone comes in with a crazy bid. "But of course there are lesser members who have not played as much under me who I would have to consider if we could trade them."
