Napoli let midfielder go
Palermo beat the transfer deadline to secure the signing of Manuele Blasi from Napoli.
The Italian international has been with Napoli for two seasons after switching from Juventus.
He has now decided to accept a move to Sicily and will spend the next season on an initial loan.
"I have had two wonderful years in Naples and it has not been easy for me to decide to leave," he explained.
"However, when you realise you are no longer in a club's plans it is useless to remain. Therefore I thought that it was right to join a squad who wants me."
"The squad is strong and the club is ambitious. We must believe in ourselves and try to have a great season. For what goal can we aim? I do not know it, I have never made predictions."
