Midfielder wants Ipswich stay

Alan Quinn insists he has no intention of leaving Ipswich Town as Jack Colback hopes to extend his stay. It has been reported that Quinn is one of a number of players at Portman Road that Roy Keane has told could leave the club. Quinn was restored to Town's starting line-up for the midweek draw with Nottingham Forest and he hopes he will continue to play a part in the first team. "I hope I'm here for the long term," said the 30-year-old Dubliner. "The manager saw me and said that he did not name names to the press and he would tell me face to face if he had a problem with me. "And I know he would, having seen him do it to others. "I want to play for this club, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I did enough against Forest to keep my place in the side for the league game at Doncaster on Saturday."

Colback happy

Another player hoping to remain at Ipswich is Colback - currently on a three-month loan at the club from Sunderland. "It's still early days but if it goes well for me here and the gaffer wanted me to stay, then I'd be happy to spend the year here," he said. "We will have to wait and see how things work out over the next few months. I certainly want to play first-team football and I'd rather stay here then go back to Sunderland and play in the reserves - if that is what the gaffer wants. "Coming to Ipswich gives me a chance to play first-team football and that is what I need at this stage of my career, that's what I need to progress as a player. "I have played a few games now and feel that I am imposing myself a bit more on the team but the results are the main thing and they have not gone as well as we would have liked. The signs are there though that things will change around very quickly."
