Darlington are taking a look at Crystal Palace striker Simon Thomas and free agent Richard Jackson.
Thomas and Jackson handed chance to impress
Darlington boss Steve Staunton is considering Crystal Palace striker Simon Thomas and free agent Richard Jackson as he looks to bolster his squad.
The Eagles have confirmed that Thomas is to spend the coming days in the North East with the Quakers desperately short of fire-power.
Palace assistant manager Mick Jones told the club's
official website: "Simon has joined up with Darlington for a few days for Steve Staunton to have a look at him in their set-up."
And former Derby defender Jackson, who was freed by Hereford in the summer, is training with League Two's bottom club in the hope of earning a contract.
Staunton saw his side comprehensively outplayed by Dagenham & Redbridge in his first match in charge at the weekend as they suffered a 2-0 defeat.
The Quakers have a paltry two points to show from their opening 12 matches and are already eight points adrift. They are yet to take the lead this season and have found the net just four times.
Their next test comes on Saturday with promotion hopefuls Shrewsbury making the trip to the Darlington Arena.
