Opening blitz puts Bundesliga leaders in control

Bundesliga leader Bayer Leverkusen continued their fine start to the season with a 4-0 drubbing of Eintracht Frankfurt. Bayer blew away the visitors inside the opening quarter of the match with the home side racing into an early three-goal lead. Stefan Kiessling opened the scoring after just two minutes with Stefan Reinartz doubling their advantage just four minutes later. Eintracht barely had chance to draw breath before Toni Kroos added insult to injury with a crippling third. To Eintracht's credit they closed the floodgates until late on before Lars Bender scored Bayer's fourth on the night. Bayer now command a four-point lead over Werder Bremen at the summit of the Bundesliga table while Eintracht remain in mid table.
