Hartlepool have been rocked by the news that Denis Behan could be sidelined for at least six weeks.
The striker fell awkwardly in the second half of Tuesday night's 3-1 defeat at home to Southampton and had to be stretchered from the field.
He was taken to hospital for an X-ray and it is feared he has either damaged ligaments or sustained a fracture.
"It's a big blow for us because Denis was just back in the team and looking back to his old self," Chris Turner explained on the club's
official website.
"We'd taken him out of the firing line in the last couple of games and given him a rest so it's sod's law and very unlucky for him that he's injured.
"With Colin Larkin missing for another fortnight or so and Ritchie Jones suspended for a game it gives the opportunity for other players to stake their claims."
