Former U21 international will act as back-up goalkeeper
Hannover 96 have signed former Germany U21 international goalkeeper Uwe Gospodarek until the end of the season.
The 36-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a six-month deal which will see him act as back-up to Florian Fromlowitz.
Fromlowitz, the current Germany U21 shot-stopper, became first choice at Hannover following the death of Robert Enke.
Hannover general manager Jorg Schmadtke has welcomed the move for Gospodarek, who had initially retired from the game in April after having his contract at Borussia Monchengladbach cancelled.
"We have signed an experienced goalkeeper in Uwe Gospodarek," he told the
club's official website.
"He will be ideal to run interference for Florian Fromlowitz."
