Midfielder wants to leave Monaco in search of regular football
Jerko Leko has expressed his desire to leave current club Monaco having been linked with a surprise move to Chelsea.
The 29-year-old Croatian midfielder has rarely featured this term under coach Guy Lacombe, making just one start and two substitute appearances in Ligue 1.
He was strongly linked with both Wolves and Celtic in the summer but failed to land a work permit to cross the Channel.
But now the midfielder, who is under contract with Monaco until June 2011, is being touted as a surprise Chelsea target.
The player himself wants to move on to secure more first team football.
He told
L'Equipe: "I can't be satisfied with so few first team opportunities.
"I am not a 20-year-old anymore. I have contacts in England and Germany and I want to discover something new."
