Midfielder Marek Matejovsky is happy at Reading after speculation over his future during the summer.

Czech midfielder now settled at the club

Reading midfielder Marek Matejovsky has revealed that he is happy with the Royals after speculation over his future during the summer. The 28-year-old Czech Republic international, who signed for the club when they were in the Premier League, was linked with a move to Sparta Prague back in August, but he has got himself back into contention at the Madejski Stadium. With Reading having had a poor season in the Championship so far, Matejovsky denies that he wants to leave and says he is now purely focused on his role in the team. When asked if he was thinking about leaving, he told deniksport.cz: "I am not considering anything like that. "Back at that time (in the summer) I was not playing at all, but now the situation is completely different, so I don't feel like leaving, not even thinking about that. "Naturally, it would have been better to be playing in the Premier League, but I must be realistic. "When I came to Reading, they were 12th or 13th and I was thinking that problems like relegation would not happen. "It did happen, but that's life. The Championship also has its quality, it is a very demanding competition and as long as I am playing regularly I don't see any problem in it."
Quality
The Royals are currently 20th in the table but Matejovsky, who has made 13 league starts this term, insists they have the quality to move away from the relegation zone. "We have not been performing badly, just results are not coming," he added. "In some of the matches we had 20 or more shots but still did not win. We dictate the tempo, dominate the game, but still lose it. "I think we have plenty of quality within the team. I don't at all fear relegation. "I am convinced that our position will change for the better very soon."
